BGen Ray Colwell

I received an e-mail from Cyril W. Gray of the Halifax Rifles Association and he passed on these images of BGen Ray Colwell (1st Hussars CO 1943-1944)



BGen Ray Colwell was CO of the 1st Hussars, but prior to that was CO of The Halifax Rifles, and in fact took The Halifax Rifles overseas in June, 1943.   He later assumed command of the 1st Hussars.  In 1943 The Halifax Rifles were broken up and reinforced over 30 different Armoured and Infantry units.
